Merritt Talbot is an Advanced Scuba Instructor with Harry’s Dive Shop. He was certified as an Open Water Diver when he was 13 years old by Harry Caldwell, the founder of Harry’s Dive Shop. Merritt has been scuba diving for 50 years and enjoys various Harry’s Dive Shop trips with his three children.

You will often find the Talbots looking for spotted eagle rays, octopi, or any kind of shark when underwater. Living in Louisiana and being close to the Caribbean has offered him many easy-traveling opportunities to scuba dive with Harry’s Dive Shop and explore the abundant sea life of our region. Merritt also very much enjoyed the “Harry’s Trips” to some of their more “exotic” locations, seeing different corals, fish and animals while also learning about the culture and history of these countries.

Merritt is knowledgeable, caring and enthusiastic about teaching scuba diving. He enjoys meeting new people and has the patience to ensure all his students become comfortable, confident and capable Scuba Divers.

Merritt lives in New Orleans with his wife, Kathryn, and is often found lending a hand or an ear to any of their three children. You can find him fishing, sailing, or involved in his latest building project or home repair job in his free time.
