Susanne Karst became a diver along with a boyfriend in 1992, while living in Dallas. When she was a little girl of 10, Susanne wanted to be a school teacher. Her favorite movies are My Cousin Vinny and The Fifth Element, her music of choice is Contemporary Christian and her favorite marine creature is the Queen Triggerfish — gotta love the eye makeup. Susanne’s claim to fame is that she was the first female Plant Manager for Occidental Chemical.

Her most memorable diving experience is her trip to Raja Ampat, Indonesia where there was far too much to see in the given amount of time. Other hobbies include watching movies, Bikram Yoga, drinking wine, eating dark chocolate and reading mysteries. As a scuba instructor, Susanne most enjoys teaching the kid’s summer camp of Scuba Rangers. She has learned that kids will try anything without excuses, fear or hesitation.
