Advanced Scuba Diver
Once divers have completed their entry-level certification course and our combined Nitrox/Advanced Buoyancy Control (ABC) clinic, this is the next step. It introduces students to a variety of specialized diving activities while at the same time gaining valuable experience.
- The specialties we cover include Deep Diving, Compass Navigation, Limited Visibility/Night Diving, Wreck Diving (External Survey), Equipment Maintenance and more.
- During the four instructor-supervised open-water training dives, students experience an unassisted neutral ascent (no rope) including a safety stop, safely deploying and retrieving an SMB from 30 feet, external survey of a wreck (mapping), deep diving (greater than 60 feet), compass navigation, and display confidence with air sharing at depth.
This is not a “marginally advanced beginner” course for which divers get a card for making a career total of less than ten open water dives. This is a true Advanced Diver program requiring that students log a total of 24 dives prior to certification.
Additionally, this is not a distinction you will ever have to explain to dive operators and others. Your dive log will do your talking for you.
